1 day before take off
Dear me, I have not much time left. It's now 8:09 p.m. and I am finalizing the last preparations. I have not even finished packing yet. I will get no time for at test ride. A couple of hours ago I went up the main street in Ellidshoej Downtown and found out that everything was ok. It has to be. I have not heard anything from the Germans and furthermore I have lost their address. If I manage to get hold of it again I am going to pay them a visit after all.
Last night I had a call from Wietold in Poland. He told me was looking forward to my visit. I was very pleased to hear that. I have almost finished packing the trailer and also the bags. My handlebar bag is not working like it should bit that's only a minor problem. I have absolutely no idea how it will be to ride with the trailer through Europe, but I expect it to be very good. First of all I must learn to control the bike with all that luggage. It is only a question of getting used to it. This very moment the sun is shining, which it will do tomorrow as well. The strong wind from yesterday is practically gone and will cause no problem. Especially not if it is a tail wind. Well I think I'll just leave and watch what will happen. I think I am in control of most things. I do not recall that I have had so many items in my "beauty box"" before. I am going to be a very clean bicycle rider. This will be the last diary for the time being. See you all in August.
