DOŅA LILING NEIS NEGAPATAN MEMORIAL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
(Brief History)
The Doņa Liling Neis Negapatan Memorial National High School was founded in 1986 thru the effort of the Late Former Mayor Jesusa N. Booc. She was helped by Mr. Perpetuo Pedroza, District Supervisor and Mr. Carlos N. Alivio, Tabogon Central School Principal in preparing the documents needed in opening a school. One of which was the school site which was immediately solved by the founder, Doņa Liling. She was a woman of generosity. Without any second thought she donated 2 parcels of land, hers and of the late mayor for the purpose. The donated school site is in Barangay Tapul and has a total area of 3 hectares. Madam Book during that time met many trials in the process but despite everything her dream to have a public high school in the heart of the town was realized after all. On June 1986, the school which some considered impossible to be opened had officially started its operation. They utilized the Session Hall of the Central School and the ground floor of the ancestral house of the Late Mayor. At first it received negative reactions from the people. They didnt believe that the newly opened school can stand that was why criticizers never transferred their students who studied in a distant school to the walking distance school.
In its maiden operation, the school had only 5 personnel namely: Loreza D. Povadora, Ruben C. Urot, Ameliorita David, Claudio Alivio and Ismaelita Neis. It had a population of 267 in which 142 were males and 125 were females. From 1988-90, two buildings were constructed. One was donated by the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the other one by the Plan International. In 1990, the school transferred to its present location with five rooms only. Three hundred one students occupied the rooms with limited chairs. So, the PTCA Officers together with the parents constructed wooden desks for students use. Others also provided their own seats. Since then, 4 buildings were added, two from the DepEd and another two from the Plan International. Right now, the school has a total of 6 buildings and a total of 16 rooms. Ten are used as classrooms, one computer room, one library, one session hall, one science laboratory room, one principals office and one as a faculty room. Following are the names of the former administrators of the school: Mr. Abraham P. Sollano, Mr. Paciano R. Cabataņa; Mr. Pascual Y. Lobitaņa; Ms. Elda R. Guinita; Mr. Raul A. Jumao-as and the present Mr. Noe P. Ursal.
The school receives sufficient supplies of electric and water. It is also equipped with the modern facilities like computers, internet and telephone. Its official publication is called Vision, which is published yearly. The school is constantly producing competent students who become successful in their chosen field of endeavors.
